    All of our plates are manufactured in the UK using Stainless Steel 316 LVM ISO 5832-1 ASTM F138/F139 316LVM is Low Vacuum Melted to achieve high levels of purity, reduced inclusions, and reduced delta ferrite particles. We Satin Finish our plates giving the following advantages. • lack of annoying light reflection during surgery. • Creates a uniform surface layer of compressive stress, which acts to combat stress cracks and corrosion, therefore, increasing the life of implant. • Greater ultrasound reflection. • Cleaner part, free from residues with a low CFU (microorganism) count, resulting in easier autoclave sterilisation.

    Locking screws and plates are currently available in sizes 3.5mm 2.7mm 2.4mm 2.0mm Plates have dual combination stacked mono-axial locking holes that consist of a conical shaped twin start threaded hole with ball radius over top. Screws are AO compatible with a twin start threaded head and HC threaded shaft. Benefits of using locking over standard compression are as follows: A locked construct creates a secure fixation when used in conjunction with a compatible locking screw, providing stability, and a reduced risk of primary and secondary losses of reduction. The plates do not need to be compressed against the bone to create a stable fixation, and thus reduces plate to bone contact, which in turn reduces complications caused by vascular trauma to periosteal tissue through preservation of blood supply.

    Kirschner / Arthrodesis Pins and Wires Unthreaded Kirschner Wires are supplied in several formats, Trocar point in which the tip is sharpened to a 3 facet point, Bayonet point which provides a spade drill for improved cutting, Triangular end to allow greater grip in the jaws of the drill, and Round end, plain finished with domed tip. Threaded, trocar pointed wires are also available for use as guide wires. Steinmann Pins Used in skeletal traction for alignment and reduction of fractures,and with certain external fixation systems. Steinmann Pins are supplied either with a three facet trocar point or ‘spade drill type’ bayonet point. The ends of the pins are available either triangular or round. Material Material for sizes up to Ø5.00mm = Stainless Steel ISO5832-1 XH (extra high) = 1400 N/mm2 Material for sizes over Ø5.00mm = Stainless Steel ISO5832-1 HI (high) = 1100 N/mm2
